Goat heads are a vicious spawn of Hades. Buddy of mine and I fell off a horse into a bed of goat heads; I have never forgotten it. We have a lot of sand burrs here, and they are bad enough.

I have more problems with scorpions coming in with the firewood. I have learned to not bring firewood in the house unless it is really cold outside. I don't store it in the house or on the enclosed porch anymore. I have everything else sealed off nicely.

Agree! Which is the type of scorpion we have down here - the Wood Scorpion.

As I've said, in the three+ years I've lived here, I've only seen the one. Seeing as it's winter and I bring in wood daily, I check each and every piece before doing so. Mostly it's for hibernating European Wasps & other critters of the insect variety.

Yep, turns out we've got them too only they're called Bindii.
