SCUTs, why so little competition?

Sorry about the mispelling Neil, the question(s) still stands tho :D

I go by 3 different Kubota dealers weekly and all appear to have more BX models in stock than any other, is this just specific to my area or is this the norm?

But ti's basically the same price.
In very rare occasions as you show it is the perfect fit. But I think those cases are rare, thus for the same money MOST people go for the bigger tractor. Thus the point of my original post, what's the point? There are options for everything, but most people don't buy SCUT's, the market is limited.
That's all I'm saying.
Got any numbers to back that up?

A comparably equipped CUT would have cost me $4k+ more and it wouldn't give me near as nice a finish cut, the modest increase in FEL & 3PH lifting power isn't needed the majority of the time and in my case ground clearance isn't an issue. With an increase in price of nearly a 1/4 of the purchase price of the SCUT whats the point in buying a CUT that doesn't fit the primary need as well?

A SCUT is much more than a finish mower, although that is one of it's strenghts.
Most give a finish cut thats as good or better than premium lawn mowers that cost nearly the same but not as efficently as a ZTR. A ZTR is about the only machine that gives a better finish cut.

A SCUT when equipped w/an FEL can do anything a CUT w/an FEL can do but with slightly less capacity in some cases. A ZTR cannot.

A SCUT when equipped w/a BH can do anything a CUT w/a BH can do but with with smaller reach and bucket capacities. A ZTR cannot...

A SCUT can plow, disc, till, scrape, level, cultivate and seed a field just like a CUT but on a slightly smaller scale. A ZTR cannot....

In my case, after working the BX23 a week or so, I sold my JD L130 mower and much larger TE20 Ferguson small utility tractor as the little ole SCUT replaced them both.

Thats the point......

Yep, that was what sold me. Tractor-loader ... pretty close ... w/backhoe ... $4-5K more ... no sale. I need the BH, period ... 6' depth is more than enough. I don't need to dig out Korean warheads

I could not tell you what the top 5 are nationaly, thats going to be a very regional thing. For us BX's are first, roughly followed by ZD's, RTV's, L's, and then B's and M's. This year was a disproportional amount of BX24's, I'd say almost half of BX sales, this was unusual and we've had a hard time keeping them in stock. So yea, there are way more BX's out there than anything else. We also get more consistant good feedback from BX owners than anyone else. Probably becuase most people don't expect that such a small tractor can do much.

I would also like to point out that my "nibble" in the Mahindra forum stated that the new tractor & loader to be on display at Moultrie was a CUT not a SCUT. It is not going to be the answer if you are wanting SCUT. It is a very nice unit in its own right though.

I wish I did. To be honest, it was almost an act of Congress to get the loader in the show period. Any guesses as to which one it is?

Is it the 1815 or the 2415? I expect to see the 1815 models first.

Personally I look at "sizes and labels" with a very open mind.

Some CUTs are so strong they behave like much bigger tracs, as Coasterez noted with his Kioti CK25 for example. And yet I bet if you put turf tires on them they won't have more of a footprint than SCUTs.

And then you have Neil who hears many customers being surprised by what these little SCUTs can do.

Ain't this wonderful?

Expensive LOL, but wonderful.

Please see my previous post, nope, no size fights with me!

Kindly post more info on size, price, etc on that 2815 on this thread if and when you can. The bigger Mahindras seem to price very competitively so we might have a CONTENDER.
