Seafoam

My small engine guy put me onto Startron. Says it won't gum up like Stabil. I have been using it for about 2 years in all my small engines and for storing my snowmobiles and summer vehicles. No problems at all with starting and everything is running smooth.

If you have issues with reg stabili use their marine one.

I'm happy with what Startron is doing for my engines so I'll stick with it. My small engine guy lives this stuff and hasn't steered me wrong in the 20 years I've been going to him.

Nothing wrong with that. Problem I have is most forums have limited info or neg comments on it. YMMV.

For cleaning, Amsoil power foam is 10000X better then seafoam and cheaper. Also B12 Chemtool is way better. Why anyone still buys overpriced seafoam is beyond me.

I still like all three of these products. The amsoil Powerfoam works good but is impossible to buy easily, plus it loses pressure from the can.....B12 is cheaper and works most of the time, plus liquid or spray...All that fails Seafoam it...

Seafoam is one of those rare products. It actually does what it says it will do. Defiantly in my "A" list of products.

I heard that. darn few of them do what they say!

We have an '03 Honda Civic Hybrid, and I got a OBC code that indicated a problem with the catalytic convertor... after resetting, it came back about 3 month later. Everyone wanted over a $1000 to fix it, and since there are two convertors, I didn't want to screw with it myself. A buddy with connections to the auto repair business suggested running Sea Foam thru the fuel system, and when we did, the light stayed off. Turns out Honda had a recall to recalibrate the computer to correct for overly sensitive ox. sensors that were falsely indicating that problem. The Sea Foam cleaned up the sensors, I believe. Anyay, after the recall, all is well, and I am only out the Sea Foam's $8.

Yup but again it does not do much either. Much better adds to add to your fuel..

Some People seem happy to pay for over priced, fix any problem elixirs for themselves or thier machines . Check the MSDS sheets for Seafoam. WooooHoooo......It's just10-20% rubbing alcohol, 25-35% naphtha gasoline/Coleman lantern fuel and 40-60% baby oil. Save your money and pour some gasoline antifreeze into the fuel tank if the lines and offices are gummed up.

one would assume that the 2-propanol being used it 100%, and not the 90 or 70% we see commonly. that and a light napthenic oil, and well.. naptha.. and you are there.. many people don't want to mix n match their own brew.. thus the pre bottled stuff.. etc.

the iso heet is likely also a 100% 2-propanol, and could be used as the source instead of hitting a drug store..e tc.

I have used seafoam for years in small engines especially marine, dirt bikes and outdoor power equipment. Mainly as a preventitive I will put a few ounces in the mix. I have had almost no carb issues for many years. I have bought it at O'Reilly's by the gallon for $50+. I did see Coleman Fuel at Walmart for $9.99 per gallon and the label said that it has rust inhibitors in the fuel. My question is would using the coleman fuel be almost the same as seafoam? In my earlier truck driving days we used lots of rubbing alcohol in the gas tank to fight condensation or bad gas. It made sense at the time.
