seal for fecon/rexroth motor

If a quick connect on the drain hose comes apart , don't let the mulcher stop . If it's on an electric solenoid servo , idle the machine down with the mulcher still running . After your usual Turbo cool down time , turn the engine off . If it's on a pilot line pedal , idle the engine and slowly let the pedal return to neutral . By doing this no harm will be done to the hydraulic motor . The harm is done when the oil flow is shut off suddenly with the rotor still spining , the motor "dead heads" and either the seal will blow or the case will crack .

I guess the damages on the motor will depend on the type of motor and its features.

In the motors we use, which are variable-displacement axial piston motors, a quick coupler that disconnect will harm the seal very quickly. Letting the rotor run will not change anything to that.

In regards to shutting off the flow going to the head, we add a check valve between the return and the pressure lines. If pressure line stop pushing oil, that valve opens and let the motor suck oil from the return line; until the rotor comes to a stop, the motor will then continue to turn unharmed. I imagine this is pretty common on industrial-type attachments, but no manufacturer are doing things the same...

Can you post the part # for that seal?
