Checked the points and filed the contacts to assure good electrical contact and verified gap at .018. Took off the coil and sanded both the coil and the magnet to a shiny finish and set air gap at .008. Put everything back together and tried starting, it flooded the spark plug for a no start. Remember I drove it to the main garage to work on it. Changed spark plug and it fired up and ran fine. One thing I never did all the years I have owned it was to turn off the gas when I finished using it, I think I will now shut it off, then turn it on when I am ready to start it to see if it keeps it from flooding. If that doesn't fix the flooding then a carb kit will have to be installed. I also torqued the head bolts to the proper specs.
