Heck. I'm using mine almost every day with no snow and rain only about once/week. Got lots of toting down to the garden of this and that. Finished mulching the rows. Doing shredding of some awful autumn olive and oriental bittersweet now.

If you don't use it much, put the battery on a tender or a dual set of timers in series to a low rate charger. Had a diesel car sit for 9 months when we lived in Singapore the first time. Had the battery in the basement on a charger off 2 timers in series, both set for about a couple hours each. Came back, put battery in car, glowed it, fired right up. Nice thing about diesels.

Down here in Arkansas, we are getting lots of rain, about every weekend, but no snow, temps are in the 50's or 60's for the highs practically every day. Anything but gravel or chat is very soft, so I haven't been able to do any dirt work , I don't burn wood, and I have no livestock, so my tractor has been idle since November. I lined up a job on a house being remodeled today, but it may be March before I can do it. Unless things change a lot, there will be no snow here this winter. We are supposed to get 3 to 4 inches of rain between Friday and Sunday, and then it's supposed to turn colder. Hopefully it will clear the air out around here, and my allergies will clear up some.

Down here, for wintertime, we still see some dirt/gravel work and even some shredding due to wintergrass and native weeds. Not big, but, still something.

I don't have a whole lot in my tractor/equipment so I can let it sit w/o a lot of worry but I know some need to make it pay.

Ohio is nothing but mud, too. Using the Yanmar for moving manure (and digging ruts into the driveway) and that is about it. Can't even hook the spreader up to the H to take it out to the field because of the mud. So I start the H and let it run for awhile once a week but it isn't getting any use. We are predicted to have rain, sleet and snow all weekend though with a pretty good amount Sunday night and into Monday. Maybe I'll get to use that new rear blade afterall. And here I waited til what I thought was the last minute to buy that blade! Of course, if I hadn't bought it, we'd have had a big snowstorm:D

My son and I put the snowblower on yesterday afternoon, so I guess that means another week without snow!

I do manage to go out and start it up weekly (daily) and once in awhile take a ride to the top of the hill and look out over the pond. Normally we are snowmobiling across the pond to the trails.

This year we could take the boat across so far, as it is the January and there is no ice yet.

All I can say is we are all ready so come on down SNOW!

Snowless here, no snow mgmt. revenues at all. This warm, snowless winter beats up on local business and trickles down to everyone. Every year we trek up to my sisters house for xmass (waterbury vermont), no snow up there either?

I spent 4 hours making compost piles amd moving horse manure.
Today, with light snow, stay indoors and watch football.

For me, and as I suspect, a lot of others, the tractor during winter months becomes a tool to handle seasonal snows and if you own animals, move their food around (regardless of whether it's been 'processed' or not).

Were it not for the latter, I would have considered putting the machine into dry storage.

Since I built a new lean-to for the machine, I have obviously impacted el Nino along with the countless of tractor owners who have spent time and money on protecting their investments from the winter elements. It is clearly our fault.

If it would get cold and stay cold, I could at least go move up and start prepping next years firewood.

Coastal Maine right now, seems to be one giant "stick and mud" month.

:(
