Seat Safety/Kill Switch

Don't worry about bypassing any safety switches and the safety police giving you crap about it. I have bypassed most of them on my NH tractor and am about to do the same on my Cub "Tank" Zero-turn.

In my opinion, these are developed my the mfg. because someone sued and had someone like Al Sharpton or JJ for representation (been following the Imus saga.)

I am having the same issue on my new Cub. The seat sensor is very sensitive and will kill the PTO and/or the engine when I shift in the seat. I'm a pretty big guy so there should be more than enough weight on the seat to prevent this from happening, but it does anyway. I have some hills that are pretty steep and I am used to shifting my body position to improve stability hills. I have thought of disconnecting the switch, but I am worried about what would happen if the tractor would tip over. The thought of getting caught up in the blades actually scares me more than having part of the tractor fall on me. In the past, I have used older tractors that did not have any safety features, but never on a slope as steep as what I am cutting now.

It would really be nice if there were a way to adjust the sensitivity of the switch. Or maybe if there was a third party switch that could be used instead. Does anybody have any ideas? I'm thinking of trying to adapt the seat switch from my old tractor, but I have no idea if I could make it work. That old switch is more of a seat position sensor than a weight sensor within the seat like on the Cub.

I really need this safty item disabled and I don't have a wiring diagram to see how to bypass this correctly...

Can you put a small spacer or shim in it so it doesn't shut down if you un-weight the seat a little but have it still shut off if the seat is raised fully?

With that said:
I like that safety switch but I really dislike the parking brake switch. PIA!

How 'bout a piece of gorilla tape to hold it down... very durable and should last throughout the summer if not longer...

If I remember right I simply unhooked the switch on the seat and the switch that cuts the blades off when in reverse. But my mower is made by mtd, so it may be different.

It seems strange to me why my dk40 dosen't have much saftey stuff. Heck I could jump off the tractor while traveling and it would keep on going. The shuttle lever needs to be in neutral to start the engine, but that's about as far as it goes for saftey features. My neighbor's tc30 has saftey switches all over it along with an extreemly annoying beeper.

The white connector just above the key switch will take care of the PTO cutout in reverse. That was my main concern. Hard on the PTO cutting in and out frequently and they ain't cheap. I don't mind putting the parking brake on when dismounting.

engage PTO, turn key back one position and hit the triangle button. Mow in reverse all day if you want

Not necessary after disconnecting that connector and for some reason mine didn't always work as advertised. No more PTO shut down now.

The 2005 LT1050 I have here has a switch with 2 wires on it under the seat, one kills the engine when you get off the seat and the other kills the blades if you get off the seat, IIRC one wire was white and the other was yellow, but I can look at it if need be.
I disconnected the engine shutoff one but left the blades hooked up, now if I get/fall off the seat the blades stop until I shut off the PTO switch and turn it back on again. After having the tractor roll on me last year I wanted to have something to stop the blades if I came off.
