I s there a setting where I can dismount and then get back on with out the tractor always turning off?
Even if I put the tractor in neutral it will turn off. Is there a proceedure for keeping the tractor running?
I'm driving a 2001 TC40 D.\
Thanks
Bob

Bob,

With the engine running, you can leave the seat ONLY IF you put the tractor into NEUTRAL and you set the PARKING BRAKE. This allows you to operate the PTO while standing next to the tractor.

Ok, I was meswsing with the parking brake yesterday and could not figure it out.
But, I thought about over night and think it might work like this.
Push in the brake pedals and then pull the handle. IT this correct? Does the handle lock into position?
Thanks

On the smaller NH's the directions are:

1. Push in the brake.
2. Pull up Orange E brake handle.
3. Release pressure on the brake pedal.
4. Release orange E brake handle

You have to hold the emerg brake handle up while you release the pedals. When you get ready to release the brake, just tap on the pedals and it should release.

Dave, that is the way mine works too.

Bob, the orange handle does NOT lock into place when the parking brake is set. However, there is a light on the dashboard that lights up to indicate the brake is set.

You didn't hear it from me but a zip tie will solve the problem on L30 series kubotas.

I tell you flipping the seat up against the steering wheel gets old when using a logging winch.

But maybe not the Mid PTO, at least on my TC18. The rear PTO work, but not the Mid PTO.

OK Jerry, you got me on that. I honestly have never tried to operate the MID-PTO while off the tractor, at least not that I can recall. Then again, I can't think of any good reason to run the mower deck while off the tractor. The other implement that runs off the MID-PTO would be a front snow blower, I don't have one of those, but again, it would be tough (and UNSAFE) to run the snow blower while off the tractor.

Curious- But what do people run with the rear PTO that they would like to be off the seat for? I can think of PTO power generaters and grain equipment, but using a CUT?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif For me, all I use is a brushcutter/bush hog, and I dont see a need to get off of the tractor while that is spinning. But I could if I wanted to /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif, gotta love older tractors /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
