LOL. Guess I had that coming... backhoe never even crossed my mind /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif but I figured the generator would make the list. Post hole digger, would some one be kind enough to explain? I have only been for one time of post hole digging, and the guy never left the seat, (of course he didnt have to... he had help /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ) Would/do you use a cheater bar to add down force?

I didn't notice you had already said generator, so I repeated it. That one is well covered. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I don't get off my tractor with the PHD going most of the time, but occasionally, I do need to put some downforce on it or push it from the side to keep it from digging crooked.

I'm one of those people who thinks the auger is not nearly as dangerous as the PTO drive shaft. I wouldn't want to be caught in either, but I avoid getting anywhere near the drive shaft when it's turning. I have attached a 2x4 or a landscaping timber to the PHD so I can apply downforce and stay away at least 5'.

Yep, just spent two days of running the PTO generator as a very brief but violent thunderstrorm knocked out the power. Parking break on, range shift in neutral.

Pulled the tractor, with generator, in the garage and left the door open. Piped the exhaust out through a long piece of flexible exhaust pipe and then through a piece of downspout. Way to much soot and ash if not.

My rider lawnmower will let me get out of the seat if it is in neutral, and p-brake set.. however.. if the blades spinning.. can't get up.

As far as I can tell.. my 'real' tractor doesn't have any of those seat sensors..

The wife called me at work one day to say the mower quit everytime she engaged the blades. She's almost 5'.

I got home and tried the mower and everything worked perfect. I asked her what she was doing and (frustrated) she says the exact same thing I was doing. I ask for a demonstration so she get on the mower and as she leans forward (ok, shes outta the seat) to engage the blades the mower dies. I didn't have to say a word, she just busted out laughing.

Yea if blades are running, you're not going anywhere with most of the ones I have used. You leave can leave them sit and run (no blades), but I think someone's played around with a switch somewhere with that. The most annoying one is the ZTR our church has. To start, levers have to be out, P brake on. Then take P brake off, fold levers in (opposite order= /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif) Then fire up PTO and.... voila! Your face turns to /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I dont think you can disable any switches on that, because it requires opposite things to start as it does to move. Clever people, those engineers...

When I was real young and Dad had me mowing, my legs were so short that if I tried to push the pedal hard, I'd kill the engine... whoops! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

On my murray from 1995.. if you set the park brake, and are in neutral, and have blads off.. you can get out of the seat.

Now on my Big NH.. to start it.. both trannie and range selector have to be in neutral.. clutch pushed.. pto disengaged.. but no seat switch
