Got a little seat time today.
First time the weather has been decent enough around here for a while to go outside and play with the tractor.

Doug up a couple of tree stumps with the BH.
Discovered that I hadn't been turning the seat around correctly to operate the BH.
Much more comfortable and easier to run the hoe that way.
Why didn't I discover that last fall when I used the hoe to dig up those 8 or 10 trees? LOL

How is it that you can dig in the NW territories and we have 6-8 inches if frost in New England? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I just happened to be in the right spot in Ohio.
All the big bad snow and ice storms hit north west and south west of me.

Just got in some more seat time.
This is the second time today.

Just tool out another tree stump-this one was a sassafras. Still have the smell of it up my nose.

Finally got me some day time seat time! Put about 4.5 hrs on it. Pulled some stumps, dug out some rock, moved some dirt and turned the compost pile. The temps was in the 50's and the ground somewhat dry. It's as if I was supposed to work it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The BX23 ran great. I kept it at 3/4 throttle or less and changed RPMs every now & then. Only complaint I have is with the fuel gauge. After I went past 7 hrs on the 1st tank full I got to thinking I best check the fuel even tho it showed nearly full. Put nearly 2 gallons in it. I noticed it did start falling some afterwards. Will have to monitor it.

It's a balmy 60 degrees here today.
Got in 5 hours of seat time on 2 tractors.
My next door neighbor even got in on the fun too.
After we finished I let him drive the BX23 back to the garage.

I got about 10 hours of seat time between yesterday and today. I moved about 20 loads of junk from the yard, moved the last of the stumps and root balls left into position to be removed or burned, pulled most of the roots left in the ground from the root balls, levelled the ground off a little. Alot of the time was spent digging top soil out of the ground and exchanging it for fill. One guy I hired last year, before I bought the BX23, took about 20 yards of sand based fill and spread it around over the top soil. I actually told him NOT to do that, but he did it anyway after I left. I dug out about 15 yards of the sand fill and filed it around the yard, then dug out about 12-15 yards of topsoil from under the fill, and then spread the fill around where the top soil was. Tomorrow I have to spread the top soil around and re-level everything.

As a side note, you guys would be amazed at the grade a BX will climb with a full load of dirt in the bucket. I was backing out of holes that were about 5' deep, on about a 35-40 degree angle, with bumps and dips on the incline.

Beautiful day here as well - temp about 65. I've gotten about 12 hours on the seat over the last 3 days mostly pulling vines out of trees, modifying an old grainary for my tractor shed, and thinning out some trees. Just fantastic weather for this time of year.

Some time on the other seats.

Got about an hour or so of seat time on the new BX1500 mowing.
This tractor has it all over the Cub Cadet GT2554 it's replacing.

Got a little bit of seat time on the used BX1500 smoothing out my slag drive way with the Hyd. lift/angle 60'' front blade.
Tested out the 48'' tiller on the used BX1500 also.
This is one neat - sweet set up.
Beats the pants / sox off the 1966 Bolens with a manual lift / angle blade and the 1967 Bolens with the manual lift 22'' tiller.

There's just no comparison between the 2 BX1500s and the equipment I've been using.
Yet some folks question why I decided to replace the 2 old Bolens tractors and the CC GT2554 with the 2 BX1500s.

I "earned" 11.5 hours of seat time mowing a portion of a 26+ farm in the last two days. Yes it is November as we all know but this section was chosen to be mowed later in the year. I am NOT complaining!

5 hours of seat time pulling a 14ft disk yesterday. 2 hours seat time today, putting in post holes, and hopefully 5 hours tomorrow putting down oats.

Got a tad over an hour of seat time on the new BX1500.
Used it pulling the yard trailer I was hauling stuff on from cleaning up the garage and a pole building.
