Do any of you like a particular brand or type of seat for your Yanmar? I spend a fair amount of time in them mowing and such. As I creep up in age, the seat becomes more important. I am specifically looking for the YM276D, but it seems like most seats are universal in nature.

I know you're looking for ths YM276 seats but I did a whole seat / suspension set up on my 147. Kinda applies to any tractor I suppose. Took some redoing but makes a big difference. Got some pictures around if you think they'd be helpful.

I would appreciate that a lot. The YM147 seat is setting on a set of homemade Lincoln logs, no kidding. Apparently, it had a very portly owner two owners prior who made the modifications. The picture isn't good, but you might be able to see his modifications. Needless to say, the original brackets are not there any longer.

I swapped out my Ym2310 seat which is basically the same as your 276. Picked up a generic seat and just re-drilled the existing mount to accept the new one. I'll look up the seat when I get back to the house later.

Here are a few better pictures of the Lincoln log methodology applied to the YM147D seat.

Your YM147D looks quite different than the Lincoln log YM147D.

I used freeze plugs similarly to Menagerie-Manor's. I like the looks of his seat!! Made a big difference in the way the seat cushioned the ride. Esp. on the Org. huge lug Bridgestone's. I said for yrs. it rides like the Flintstone's mobile going slow. I have the Standard seat from Fredricks or Hoye from the looks. It was new so no doubt Fredrick's being from Spalding.

Back in 2016 seat prices were reasonable for a high back at $49. Today it's over $100.

My new seat went badly outside of warranty. Reason, UV rays. I began looking at seats and noticed not many at all had UV protection except the Marine seats.

Wise makes several that would work and are extremely comfortable. I chose red because of Yanmar. They have black, gray, green for JD, and other colors too.

And just like the Yanmar option for many of the YM2xxx models, you can get the seat to swivel to help get in and out of the machine or to help turn somewhat backwards to look behind. The YM2310 was the first listed model with the option.

Thank you for the seat information. I like that look. Do you have a link to where they sell them? It must be late, because I can't read some of those words.

Because of the comment below, I now blame you for both of the other YM276D Yanmars, a Case 1845C, and a Toro Workmaster 3200 model. If I get any other wheeled farm implements you will be blamed for those as well.
........and from 3/23/2017 when you asked....."Maybe it's time to upgrade to a larger Yanmar," when discussing limitations of the YM147D.
