I have a 5 bay shop and would like to put a motion light above each bay. Is there a way to trigger them all to come on if one is triggered? I'm sure there is but my Google skills are failing me.

Is this separate from your main lighting? (i.e so some light comes on whenever someone steps in a bay?) Are you also looking for a 3-5 minute on time (like outdoor motion lights), or stays on as long as there is some human activity (like restroom or classroom motion switches)?

That is exactly what I was looking for. Not sure why I couldn't figure it out.

I do like those battery lights but I would want them powered with a battery back up.

Is this what you are looking for. What purpose do you have for these lights? These are $24.99 on ebay.

Something like that would work. They are just for outside my shop. Just want them to come on when they detect motion. Definitely need to be waterproof but nothing fancy.

This is not meant to be offensive. Do you already have the lights and the Motion detectors, if so do you know if they are low voltage or 110V? I don't know your understanding or your knowledge, but if you bought low voltage Motions you can't pass 110V thru them. Well you can but it only works once and for a really short period of time (JUST JOKING DON'T EVEN TRY TO MINGLE LOW VOLTAGE WITH 110V!)

If you provide me a list of what you bought I can probably give you a one-line diagram on how to wire it.

Haven't bought anything at this point. I was planning on just sticking 5 off the shelf lights(similar to Shop Utilitech Pro 18-Degree 2-Head Bronze LED Motion-Activated Flood Light at Lowes.com) on the shop.

I was trying to figure out if there was a way to have them all come on at once though if only one of they detected motion. Not a big deal but that was what I was hoping to do.

I'm not an electrician but I did wire up the shop myself. No issues wiring up these lights I'm just not sure what I'm trying to do is possible.

Unless you open the electrical connection to those (not just the three wires pig tails) you won't be able to to have 1 motion sensor trigger all the lights. All the switching is handled internally in each unit. You could get 1 or 2 110v Motion detectors and wire them to control flood lights but depending on your budget I don't know if that route you is what you want to take.

Also most of these you can set up the range and sensitivity, depending on how wide your shop is, you might be able to set them up so that they still track each other closely.

I hope that helped.
