I knew somebody would pick that up - I drilled the holes in the 'pod' and the corresponding holes in the frame but I need to stop at Home Depot tomorow on my way home from work and pick up a couple of bolts and lock nuts to complete the installation. For the front bolt I just used one of the bolts that holds the front cowl/exhaust mount frame on. The single bolt holds the pod on tightly but I figured two bolts are needed to make sure the mount does not move if it gets hit or whacked by something.

Jim,
Looks great - very tricked and custom - like the gussett from the "tube" back to the bracket.

Have been researching and looking into getting some lights on my Jinma. Like you, with the FEL (which I always leave on) the headlights and flashers are worthless. Have been looking to mount up on the front end of the canopy. Going to check when I go back out here in a minute to see if I can mount some under the FEL.

I envy you guys with the welding, metal tools and TALENT!

They work as good as I hoped they would. After it got dark I started up the tractor and turned on the new lights - and it illuminates the ground right in front of the tractor and about 20 feet or so ahead of it. Because the lights I used are foglights the beam cuts off very sharply and most of the light gets thrown the ground, which is what I wanted. I did not want to be shining lights into my neighbors windows and stuff like that. Pic attached shows view from drivers seat.

With the bucket at a good carrying height I get plenty of light on the ground right in front of the tractor. I tried turning the headlights on and they contributed absolutely nothing to lighting in front of the tractor. This is much better.

What would you see if you were to dig into that pile of rocks shown in front of the loader? Would the shadow of the bucket block out much, or would the new lights still 'light your way' ?

Your mod looks great, IMO. Will keep it in mind this winter when I plow snow, as that seems to be the big use of my tractor at night. Not too much loader work, but your mod looks very successful indeed.

Geeze Jim, couldn't you find some THICKER wall tubing to mount your light in????????????????? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

With the bucket down on the ground in a digging position the headlights will light the ground because they will shine over the bucket. It's only when you raise the bucket to a safe 'travel' position that the headlights become useless.

I was looking for thinner wall tubing but at the time couldn't find anything that had a thinner wall and the proper ID. The tubing had to have the right ID for the fog light to fit in. I thought about using square tubing but if I remember correctly the square tubing I could find had the same problem. I figured the heavy wall tubing adds a little bit of front end weight for plowing in the winter. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I love the armored, bulletproof lights.
I've always thought MMM also needs auxiliary lighting too.
