Thanks for the posts all. I`m making my first trip to the dealer tomorrow. I will definatelly take a long hard look at the grand L. It seems to be a majority oppinion. The only tractor i`ve ever even been on is a 12 hp wheelhorse, thus your advice is taken to heart. Thanks again and i`m sure i`ll be back with more questions.

I own and love my 2910 its a great tractor. I was very concerned about going "too big" because I wanted to use the tractor for all my mowing chores. I have quite a few trees and have found the 2910 with loaded R4s cuts up the lawn and is a little too large for some of the mowing in the hilly treed areas. I do use it in the larger areas with great effect, but the point is I am now planning on getting a lawn tractor or similiar riding mower for some of my lawn. That said, I wish I had gone for a L3710 for the other chores since I will be using two machines to mow my yard anyway. I have alot of grading, stump digging etc and the 3710 would be more effective.

BTW, the backhoe you plan to dig your pit my be far more effective for your larger stumps.
