If you you have a 17 GPM pump, then you should get 1 gal for every 3.529 sec. or every 15 sec you should get 4.25 gal.

Did you ever wire up the solenoids like I suggested? with the curl cylinder connected to the normally open section. The valve should pass 15 GPM to the curl cyl, with no voltage applied. Of course you don't need 15 GPM to operate the cylinders. The GPM just represents time.

I believe you are supposed to apply voltage before using the curl lever to control the grapple. You can test this off the tractor also.

There may be a condition, where if you move the curl lever before activating the solenoid, that the pressure might prevent the valve from shifting correctly.

I have this valve(9-5117-A) on my tractor. I am the one that had the tripple spool with problems. I replaced it with this valve and have had no problems. This valve does not need power to operate the 1st function if it is plumbed correctly.It only needs power to operate the 2nd function.The hoses from the loader control valve go to VE and VR. 1E and 1R go to the bucket cylinders. And 2Eand 2R go to the grapple. Could you have the wrong valve in the right box? Try putting power to it. If it works you have the wrong valve.

One thing I forgot to mention. On the circuit diagram E = extend and R= retract. I dont know if this efects the regen function or not.

Can you explain why you don't need to power the first function, or which solenoid is not powered?

In a valve with NO, and NC spools, The static state is that the normally open spool provides fluid to the curl cylinder in the normal sense of things. and the grapple is not activated, because the spool for that circuit is closed. So, what needs to happen, is for the solenoids to activate to switch fluid flow to the other circuit, which is the grapple. So when you apply 12 v to both solenoids, both spools activate and reverse their positions, and fluid flow is now sent to the grapple cylinder. If you remove the voltage from the solenoids, the spools revert back to their normal positions, which is the curl cyl will now operate, and the grapple will not operate when you move the curl lever.

Can you post the circuit diagram? hydraulic and electrical.

I don't believe this valve has regen. Are you talking about the FEL valve?

Bill,

The original poster said he has the same valve as you have, and he said he checked out with air. He said that the flow through the valve is not good. He also said he activated both the valves and the solenoids operated the spools to reverse the static state. So, I believe that both solenoids have to be powered at the same time for the valve to be called a diverter valve.

The first solenoid is normally open the second is normally closed. This allows the first function to work without any power. When you apply power to both solenoids, #1 closes and #2 opens allowing the second function to work. I went outside and unplugged mine and the loader works as if the valve wasn't installed. I was talking about regen in the loader valve.

Did you notice any slow down when you installed the diverter valve. jurden said he thought the flow was less than normal.

i reattached the curl/dump hose with the two jic male adapters and the dump/curl works like it did before adding the valve. i mailed the selector valve back to SC this afternoon. i guess if i had used a little simple math i would have known how to measure the amount in the bucket and the time it took to run-out a gallon. i was just thinking i wouldnt know what 15PGM would look like coming out the end of the hose. anyway...too low a flow through the valve. Ill post up what SC has to say about the valve, they wanted to have it checked out/repaired rather than send another one....i dont know how i would have gotten this far without all the help from everyone. thanks two times!...........al

J J , my hydraulics work perfectly. I just did a little research and if he is putting this on his M9000 the hydraulic flow is 23.1gpm acourding to tractor data. My tractor only flows about 7gpm. If this info is correct and I have the right tractor the valave isn't big enough.

as info my m9000 owners manual shows 64.3 liters/67.9 quarts per min. its a 2006 model....al

i just checked tractordata.com and it does indeed say 23 GPM. i have the owners manual in hand however...al
