Keep them cards and letters coming.....thanks for the input. It has helped a lot. I have had some of all you have described. Cheap mowers, not so cheap mowers, rear drive, front drive, types that only allow bagging but I rigged to discharge.

I did like the front wheel drive for the reason mentioned above, you can just push down on the handle, get the wheels off the ground, and maneuver without disengaging. Very easy to turn around. I do understand the need for traction as well. So I will have to consider that some more.

On another note, in our area it is hard to find "small engine repair" shops. Seems that would be a great business, if you have the skills to work on them, or find workers who do.

I still wonder how successfully a front wheel drive pulls up inclines.

They pull okay but may need a manual assist depending on how steep the incline is and height of the grass.
