Sell Gas and Buy Battery Chainsaw?

However, all lithium batteries do loose their charge over time, even during time that your not using them. I recommend every 2 months putting a full charge on the batteries to avoid permanent damage.

For maximum life a lithium battery should be stored with a 50% charge.

EGo's internal BCU will intentionally self-discharge battery to 30% if it sets for 30 days.

I can adjust the timeline on my Drone batteries. I have them set on 3 days to begin discharge to 50%. All the Drone Gurus say that's optimum.

Well I certainly learned something significant from this thread about Lithium-Ion batteries. I always assumed these needed to be at full charge for long term storage, but after fact checking all the comments, the optimum charge for storage is right about 50%.

I need to revamp my charging...

I use mostly weekends and before I leave I put the Stihl AP battery on charger and lock up... often on charger all week... not sure how smart the Stihl charger is.

Bought a Menards masterforce drill/impact combo lithium over 15 years ago. Instruction book said never charge batteries over 50% before storing. Still using two original batteries and the impact will loosen super duty 160 ft/lb lug nuts today. Best battery tool I've ever owned.

Dang you John. Got an email from tooltopia 4 batteries, dual charger and the 14" saw (makita) $379 + free shipping.
I'll let you know how it works in a week or so.

Lmao, I have been very tempted so far but haven’t pulled the trigger yet on one.

4 batteries, a charger and the tool for $380 is a good price. In the past I gave $100 for a 3 amp hour battery without charger. These newer 5amp batteries are much stronger. Single battery charger was $100 also around 2012.

From what I have seen a set of batteries cuts about as much as a tank of fuel on my stihl.

That's along with my thinking, it's about the normal retail price of just the batteries. Saw and charger are free if you twist logic around a little. I've got batteries 5 years old and they seem to have a little less performance than they used to. I hope that it will take a "normal" chain, that's one thing that I couldn't find out.

I would buy a battery saw but see no reason to "sell" a well running gas saw. Put some of that Optima (?) (Storebought gas that doesn't go bad) in it and park it somewhere.

Heck I won't even sell any of my not so well running saws.:D
