I did sell a 12" bucket for a small Kubota backhoe, 6 months ago, $200. I would have sold it cheaper to get it out of my way. I've given plenty of "in-progress" projects away since the "taker" was willing to come get it and the wife was on my case to clean up the place. Sure I've given away stuff that I wish I still had (although, it would have continued to sit in a pile).

It felt real good cleaning up... could I have sold things on Craig's list? Since lots of it came from there... wasn't worth the time or hassle. Could have just scraped most of it, wasn't worth the gas and time to do it. Glad someone else found my treasures, I was tired of looking at them and wanted some extra space! I was glad I didn't have to pay someone to take it.

Price-wise, people don't deduct their "use / time" from asking price. I've seen plenty of worn out, totally used up "things", and the asking price looks like 75% from new.

Thank God for the 58 bypass!!! Been coming up here since 1989 and never went to "it"... Had plenty of friends that stayed at our place to partake... Just not my cup of tea.

We just sold 3 farm tractors that were just sitting at the farm, of course they have been replaced by new ones before hand.
It does feel good to see your old junky items leave the property on someone's trailer, and you get paid !!

Well, with the way prices are headed,,
you have to wonder if un-used items are better sittin' in the shed, or should they be sold.

In the last year, some cars have gone up 35% on more in selling price,,

Lets have some predictions,,,,,,,
in the next 12 months, will prices;
1) go up 35%
2) go down 35%
or,,,,,,
3 stay the same!!??

I THINK it will get a lot worse before it gets better, I was looking for a new diesel dodge p/u to replace my old one when the prices went thru the roof.
If it all hits the fan and prices drop, Im buying more land - houses.
There's only so much real-estate on this earth.

A recession is the best time to get rich. People who are over-extended will need to raise cash, and you can pick up lots of stuff at a steep discount. I learned my lesson on 1982, when the Dow was 600. I wanted to buy in so bad I could taste it, but was flat broke. I was sitting in cash in 2001 waiting for the dotcom bust to bottom when the Saudis brought down the NYSE. Buy! Buy! Buy! Dumb luck. I was sitting in cash again in 2007, when stocks lost 50%. Buy! Buy! Buy! Without those two stock panics I would not be anywhere near as comfortable as I am now.

A recession is also a great time to pick up expensive tools like lathes and milling machines. I haven't been to a bankruptcy auction in years, because everyone is rolling in cash. Bids have been sky high. When everybody's broke and lots of shops are going belly up, there will be some great deals out there.

Meanwhile, only keep what you will use. Only buy what you will use. Hoarding possessions is dumb.

Wife and I sold our house for double what we bought it for.

Paid off a few bills, and waiting.......

We'll see whether we end up buying another house or property and building a place.

Just depends now on when the bubble pops and what we find.
