I agree the tractor should stay out of the real estate deal. The wildlife here is also in a safe area, except for Whipper keeping them out of the yard.
I was able to help my Dad stay on the farm till he died and that is the key. You have to have someone that you can depend on, preferably children to help with the maintenance.

The timing for the down sizing is critical, if you wait too long you loose the ability to enjoy the new place, if you go to early you loose good years of rural living. It just feels like the right time, but we will see how it goes when the place is on the market. If everyone wants a steal I might be here a while longer, and a few more years is OK too.

Wngsprd, Whipper will be a challenge but I think she will be ok with the move.

I understand the downsizing. At 69 next week, heart problems, etc., I'll have to leave farms to the younger boys. I still dream about having 100 acres or so, but it's just a dream. Reality says I need to be close to hospital.

Don I have to say i am surprised to see you checking out of the rural life already. It was just a couple years ago i recall you doing the major paver project in the driveway. That was some real nice work! I guess sometimes things change out from under you faster than you expect. Good luck
