We sold our L2501 on craigslist in only a couple of days. Don't put your phone number on it and it cuts out the BS

Heckuva suggestion, esp when you can do with ~ 'local exposure'. :thumbsup: Everybody is 'cooler online'. Tire-kickers push buttons. Visitors show you the $$.

btw, my friends iin 'the Valley' do their best with furniture, appliances, 'what they buy' on the fb app.

I'm sure there's a YMMV thing by area vs CL or ebay, esp for tractors, etc . . . which UPS and Fed-Ex won't leave on your porch.

FB Marketplace is something I値l need to check out for the future, but I don稚 really do any personalized social media, It looks like eBay is likely the best option, for my situation.

FWIW, I look at FB Marketplace almost everyday. Search engine is good for tractors. You can always get a family member who has an account to post it for you, see a lot of this on there.

CL or FB, will still have to deal with the scammers and low ballers. Good luck.

I've sold/bought on craiglist, ebay, offerup, and more recently fb marketplace.
The priciest thing I sold was a cnc knee mill, via craiglist. I also had it on ebay at the time. If I list on ebay, I adjust pricing to factor in the ebay/paypal fees.

Facebook marketplace is a new one for me, but I sold a few things recently on it, including a package deal of snow blower/mower/hedge trimmer. I skipped ebay on this, but posted a listing on all the others, and a facebook user got it. And that's generally how I do it, I type out an add, and then copy/paste it wherever I'm listing it.

Good call on not listing your phone # on craiglist, never do it on the add. Let them email you via craiglist (respond accordingly). Generally the questions sent are the same, so I often just copy/paste the response to the multiple inquiries. If somebody is serious, that's when I give them my phone number.

Sold mine on craigslist, took about 3 days. Had a few people interested, first one to show up paid cash on the spot, full asking price.

Some dealers will consign it for you, if you don't want to deal with all the scams and tire kickers, it might be a good approach. They usually charge a few hundred dollars as the consignment fee.

If I am buying something new I usually go the trade in route, unless it is a complete bath that I would take. Trading in offers a few advantages. 1. It is gone and out of my hair instantly, usually no questions asked, not my problem ever again. 2. Money is taken care of no issues. 3. I am not dealing with some guy trying to bother me about what I sold him. Yeah usually in trades you lose some vs selling your self, but when you factor time involved, fact that trade value wipes some taxes, and a general stress free experience, it tends to be a wash.

Your method will not work for many of us, who may live several+ hours drive from a dealer of choice.

Sometimes its a bath, sometimes its not, and sometimes when you lay it all out the bath isnt bad as you think. Just all depends. Nice stuff sometimes is hard. Nicer older stuff Im willing to pay market for something of vintage maybe a tad more, but I will not pay premium money for thats old but in great shape, its still old.

I generally find, that nothing is serious until you talk with someone on the phone. The on-line communication is often just BS. You can't get a feel for anybody on-line. Besides, I have had the most interesting and informative conversations with buyers and sellers. That never would have happened on-line.

I’ve had way more people that sent a phone number and wanted me to call that I never heard from again vs people that messaged a few times and came and looked at it.
