I have indicated to some people that My Dad was a cop or Lawyer, (Totally False) in a conversation with someone I thought might be sketchy, in case they had notions of targeting me for fraud.

.... if i have the notion someone is sketchy, i block the email and phone#.

I like it That being said, your item is worth what you sell it for. THose looking for really good deals will get them under some circumstances. you never know, so that's why they ask.
Something to be aware of... SOme will give you and offer, then have friends lowball you from many angles to make their own lowball offer look better. Done ALL the time...

That's a SCAM type attack. I usually take it as someone or a group thinking I'm in a bad financial position and I MUST unload it for anything I can get immediately. That may be true for a Meth-head or someone in a Divorce but, not me so I can let it rust to nothing versus accepting an insulting offer, at least for the time being but who knows in the future with today's political fights and financial mayhem.

eBay does give your item a lot of widespread visibility which can be VERY good for finding the buyer willing to pay a fair or above-average price for an obscure item not in high demand locally. I scored some old tin-lined Copper saucepans that way out of France. I was thrilled and so was the seller! Sometimes it is a WIN-WIN for both sides of the transaction. :thumbsup:
