Shrekbelly, yes, I had it up on T.H. Although, honestly, most calls came from CL.

Sold my Kubota on TractorHouse.com. Nice couple from N.C. bought it. Cash. Easy transaction.

I listed the Ford 1310 I had on TractorHouse and my phone rang off the hook on Monday when the new ads are posted. Sold it in three days.

With a cashiers check you only have to call the bank it is drawn on and verify the amount and recipient. With a certified check or any other check the only way to be sure is to cash it out (usually not allowed) or deposit the check and wait for it to clear. I have seen fakes that would blow your mind.

Don I was quite sorry to hear you sold it since I was next in line. Probably would be in my shed now if I had not screwed up the pill bottles the first weekend and knocked myself out for 36 hours

BP what is next? I assume you did much better than trading it so maybe you have some extra money for attachments now.

Speedbump - there is always another one. I actually think that a new one with a good price (16k or so) and 60 months at 0 percent is very compelling even if you have the cash.

Donn12,- Ran a CL for the front hydraulic blade and QA assembly. It was good timing as snow was coming everywhere, (late last month). Phone ran off the hook and I got what I paid for it. No questions asked for a big ticket.

The tractor took much longer and I had to have patience. Wasn't going to trade for wholesale.

I loved my BX. I was very sorry to see it sell, actually. But, I have a need to cultivate mature plants, so the ground clearance would have been an issue. What's next? A tractor with a minimum of 10" of ground clearance, 12" if I can get it. Additional HP wasn't and isn't an issue. No doubt, 23-26 hp will come with the larger frame, however.

I advertised here and sold my B3030 hsdc fel/snowblower, etc. To a member here at tbn. He was very happy with the transaction as was i. The trade in offer from the dealer was $5000. less than the private sale!

Same here when I sold my 3030 a month ago............

The "difference" between retail and wholesale trade in is a percentage of course. If your package is worth 30K, the difference is pretty substantial. If your tractor, such as mine, was only an $9K tractor, the difference is less, but on a percentage basis, it remains pretty much the same. In my case, the difference between trade in and private sale was 10-12%. It isn't chump change and no, I wasn't going to just hurriedly blow that off.

I recently sold mine online (Wheel Horse 520H) and thats what prompted my BX1860 purchase.
BUT...... BEWARE!!
Always follow your gut. Make sure the "buyer" asks legit questions. I was leary of the guy i was dealing with (one sign could be recently joining the forum), but when he sent me his name and phone numbers I did reverse name and number look up. They all matched. A good sign. After more emails and phone calls all was comfortable.
I also requested 1) a wire transfer cash deposit (optional to hold tractor) and more importantly I requested cash only at time of delivery. Did you know bank checks and money orders are highly counterfeited?! I work at a bank- I know. I also met him half way. Even though I drove a bit away, no giving out my address. I also took a cash marking pen to ensure the bills were not counterfeit. The pens are available at office supply stores OR ask your banker if you can borrow one.
If you are not sure, ask someone who is familiar with online selling. There are many help FAQ from PayPal, Craigslist and eBay.
Happy & safe selling!!!
