septic system

After very careful planing for a couple of years,I screwed up!I put the old mobile home rite where I didn't want it.I can still build the new house within about 20 feet of where I wanted to without moving MH.The 64000$ question is ,how far from the septic tank can you get before you run into trouble?Is 80" of main feed line too far?The system in the new house will be very centralized with all water going the same route.It will be about 80"from farthest drain in the new house to the septic tank.The main line will be a straight shot to the tank,no elbows or turns.Am I o.k. or up you know witch creek?

Hmmm, I have a sand mound, it's 500feet from the house, and uphill about 15, with a pump... I imagine you could always add a pump to your if you got into trouble going downhill...

The land slops in the rite direction,downhill.500'sure seems like a very long way to me.80' should be O.K. If you have no trouble with 500'

I do not believe the distance is as important as the slope. Most codes require a 2% minimum slope. The futher away you are the higher the house has to be in relation to the tank. Determine the inlet elevation in relation to the house outlet and determine if you have a 2% slope.

My new home has an eighty-five foot run from farthest drain to the septic tank. RJohnson is right the slope is the limiting factor and that can be corrected with a pump.

My fathers old home had the septic tank and system that was two hundred feet from the house. It ran down a hill to a level area of the property.

Thanks alot fellas.I realy thought I had a problem.The price of a new system I was thinking I might need will be better spent on the new ,first real house.
