Seems like cutting the return hose would solve the problem. Since no one is checking just pull off the EPA garbage on the engine.

Then you void the warranty... and where do the fumes, etc. go?

That's a good point. If the hose/tube is removable, I'd just plug it. If not removable, get a tube clamp and pinch it off.

I'd say the fumes go where they always have gone...in the air. Vented caps always allowed this. The thing I think they are trying to do is reduce everything to 0 emissions.

That Mark is the exact purpose for the nonvented fuel caps, charcoal canisters, and low vacuum fuel intake systems. Now the only thing they haven't figured out yet is to prevent fumes coming out when you refill the tank. Stand by that will be next.

If somebody cuts the line from the fuel tank, You need to install a fuel filter in the line so the tank will still vent, as well as plug the line going to the carb/intake. Now I am not saying that is what you should do because technically it is illegal and under extreme conditions if caught could result in fines up to $3,850 per day.

Are you kidding?!? In MA. the gas pump nozzles have vapor recovery systems. At first the new spouts had an outer sleave that covered your gas tank opening. The outer nozzle sucked the vapors into a charcoal canister somewhere.
The latest nozzles ditched the outer sleave for an inner tube.

I have seen those on gas pumps, but I was refering more to the portable 5 gallon gas containers. Vapor seal recovery on portable fuel container will be next.

Too late. They now all come with a spring loaded valve/nozzle, and no seprate vent. If you see any of the old style, buy all you can.

I meant they haven't started recovering the fumes between the equipment fuel tank and the portable container. You know like, a way for the fumes coming out of the tank and into the portable gas can.
