Ryan...

I'm trying to do most of the install myself and was busy since the weekend.
Tomorrow we will be fabricating a plate to mount the priority valve and finish the piping/hoses. The HKX instructions said to mount the valve behind the pump but the only place was on the muffler heat sheild and it is very thin sheet metal....too thin. I still need to get the hoses from the machine to the head made up too. I think Gillies will be comnig down next Friday but we will sure up a time tomorrow. Hopefully we will be cutting with her on the 22nd.

The paint on the Daewoo is badly oxidized and I was buffing it to get some color back in her...it will take some time but she'll shine again!

ahhh you get to meet Sir Gilles...beware...he is a genius...maybe a little hard to follow in conversation sometimes...but he knows his stuff..stand back and pay attention and he will make that head sing for you!

Hey Robbie....do you think Gilles knows if its better to install that thing to the left or the right......"It's okay!" hahaha (sorry but you won't get that joke til you spend some time with Gilles!)

I ran the machine for a while and then we tightened a few leaking fittings. Gilles jumped in and gave her a try to see how it was running. The only problem, I'm John Deere stick and he's CAT...

Gilles was full of useful information and explained everything, we tried the settings a few different ways and settled on an RPM of 2500+/-. We rerouted a few hoses and I took a bath in hydraulic oil when changing two hoses that were put in wrong.
Sharpening demo..I forot to bring the gas powered sharpener so we were using my old set up.

I only ran the machine for about 2 hours and am eager to see what I can do in a full day. It rips through 8 inch trees like nothing...I cut at least one 12 inch tree and it performed good, better than expected. I really think this is the right combination for the terrain I work in. Fast and efficient.

End of the day. One happy customer and the all knowing Mr Gilles.

Awsome! Awsome! Awssome! There is nothing like running a good peice of equipment with one of our heads dailed into it. Plus you had the best tuner. Gilles is super on equipment. He's pretty cool to hangout with as well.
If your not careful you may never go back to skid steers. Keep us posted on how it stacks up to your production expectations. Congradulations..
Just call us from time to time and not only when you break something!!:)
