Looks like he forgot to lower his dump bed before driving away.
The pole is snapped at its base. I think only an engineered guy wire would have such a secure connection to the pole, and the strength, to break the pole without tearing away from the pole or snapping the wire.Looks like he caught the phone/cable TV line...
I would guess that he was pulling onto the road from the sidestreet behind him.
I would guess that it was just hitting that wire. If you look, that is a straight run of poles, so no guy wires would be needed (other than possibly one to where the wire to the business joins and the angle looks wrong to have hit that. The pole is snapped at its base. Agree he had to be exiting the driveway. Probably after a delivery since there's no material spilled on the ground.
It seems that it would be pretty cheap insurance for any dump operators to install a switch that would light up a big red dash light when the bed wasn't stowed.
My 3500 dump had a light but it doesn't work. The bed raised is a lot more obvious than a little light. My trucks also don't drive right with the PTO engaged. It seems that it would be pretty cheap insurance for any dump operators to install a switch that would light up a big red dash light when the bed wasn't stowed.
