All I know is that some people in Florida could use this as an example for properly building a bridge.. :irked:
Sadly true.

A grading company I worked for in the early 90's had a driver do something similar in a 10 wheel. Was driving southbound I-17 in Phoenix, went to get something out of his lunch box, set it down between the seats on the floor, and tripped the dump bed. Bed raised up and he hit the next overpass. **** near killed him, destroyed the truck completely, and they had to close that overpass bridge and rebuild it. Took over a year iirc.

Never underestimate the power of human error.
How could he not know that his body was up? It must have been rocking the trailer, and pretty obvious when (if) he looked in his mirrors.

I believe that in the trucking industry they call these guys "Steerers, not drivers/"

Maybe he just wanted to get done work early that day.

I am not sure if this is wrong or not. Picture is from traffic the other day. Truck is a big flat deck towing rig with new cars on it, probably moving between dealerships. There are two vehicles on the flat deck and one in tow behind. The one in tow had no lights lit. I thought it was mandatory to have those magnetic lights on the roof of the vehicle in tow. Anyone know if lights on the car in tow are generally mandatory or just "nice to have"?

I think the RCMP would have frowned on that, if they had seen it.

Well, today the idiot was myself. I had to pick up a friends busted down 2500 suburban 65 miles away. My little trailer was under built for this task but I risked it anyway. It's an old trailer probably 15 years or better. 2-3500lb axles and a 16 foot deck, no trailer brakes either. I made it, but the trailer was not happy!!
I can't wait until I can get a new 24 foot Gooseneck.

Transmission went out, I only had reverse, is why I loaded it that way.

Made sure not to make any sharp turns!! Dang I really need to retire this old POS, even my safety chains are inop.

Soft straps are too light duty in This application but I didn't have chains and binders.

I'm ready to get flamed for this! I won't do it again. But "if it fits, it ships" LOL!

Nice job lining it up...

Looks like it was a little light on tongue weight.

I have an old 1960's SCCA race trailer... a company in Oakland did a run of about 60 of them for the SCCA club.

That trailer is single axle with 10' rails and has been all across the country... originally it hauled Lotus Super 7 and later a 65 Mustang... wish I had a picture when it had a GT40 on it or the Cobra... those would be pictures worth of posting... a car in the million dollar value range today on a single axle car trailer towed by a big 1971 Buick Convertible...

Oh... no brakes... I went on the trip when it was towed to Squaw Valley Tahoe for a summer SCCA event... up old Highway 50 with the Super 7

My neighbor used it last year to tow his Jaguar E type to a specialist...

I needed to load a ranger, but didn’t have any ramps. This was the solution. IMG_3980.JPG
