My brother and his wife live in Colorado, vacation in Washington every few years. They often drive on the beaches, first time or two, they got towed a few times. Now they are the ones helping others giving a tow or two. I don't think they take the travel trailer on the beach, just the truck.

I could Earth Google it and see if the vehicle is still on the beach. Actually, I think I might have pulled them out, or didn't have a tow strap. I can't even remember.

I do remember an incident about a motorist suing a good sumeritan (sp?) for damaging the rear of his car from pushing on it by hand in a snow storm. Makes you want to simply ignore people in distress more and more!

I don’t usually help people out of snow. I’m not risking getting run over or sued for vehicle damage to help someone who shouldn’t have been out anyway. If they aren’t shady looking I’d offer them a ride but that’s about it.

I stopped to help a lady that had slid on an icy road breaking the bead on a tire. Somehow she made it seem like I was part of her problems being now responsible for her and wanting me to stick around for the tow truck. Just another USER!

My impression until i read differently in the article was 'no one inside', ie nobody risk their life for nothing.

Holy crap, the surf beat that van all to heck, didn't it?? Wow.

I wonder if any of the van damage was from attempts to pull it out. I thought they had gotten the trailer out intact, but apparently it came out in pieces after being dashed apart.
