Seriously, how many people tie something down when it is in the bed of their truck with the tailgate up and no chance of blowing out?

I think quite a few. I have seen a lot of outward dents in my lifetime.

I love the load retainer slots in my Silverado. I keep a notched 4x4 in each of them. they are easy to remove if I have a big load but for all the day-to-day things they keep them from sliding a lot. No outward dents in my vehicle!

That's not so much tying it down as it is "using up all the extra rope"...

Yup, I think it just might be secure enough.

I always run a bungee cord through the handles of fuel cans and hook them to the rear of the bed, not so they don't come through the windshield, but so I don't have to climb in the bed to retrieve them from the front. Working smarter not harder.

I do exactly the same thing :thumbsup:

I run a strap thru the gas can handles fastened at each end. I usually get 3-4 cans each time.

IDK what is in the middle. It was only about 4'' off the ground. I would have had to dragged when they hit a bump.

Not that they were towing something wrong... but something is wrong! Notice there are two folding seats on this two or three wheeled contraption.
