Wish I had a picture of when I was installing 30 and 40 gallon water heaters...

Laid them across the trunk and lashed them down with rope secured to the back door handles... 1972 Plymouth Valiant... never lost one.

Did have to make sure the gas valve side was up.

That's not always possible. A few years ago they had a major tornado outbreak around Huntsville, Al. Some friends of mine were without power for several days. They borrowed a generator but could not get any gas for miles around, so we took them about six cans of gasoline. We had a truck, so that was what we used, but if it had been an SUV we would have done the same thing as that picture.

Yeah, what's worse, carrying half a dozen cans of gas on the rear of your vehicle, or taking a picture of someone doing that while you are driving.

Agreed. Local is relative. In 04/05 Florida hurricanes, local gas was 2 cities away..

Looking at your sig min I see you have a 2000 f350 4x4 auto daily driver. Mines a 99. Hows yours treating you? Live mine.

We both have horses and rabbits. No kids and my wife is blonde ;)

My dually is currently my daily driver with 225k miles, I got it in 2007, with 143k. I had the trans rebuilt at 150k, drove it daily until 2011, when I got my f250. I like the 6spd it has, but not the miss/pulsating blow-by it developed almost a year ago, at which time I went back to the dually. Guessing the 250 blew rings or cracked a piston in one cylinder. Wife's Excursion had 243k in 2011 when we got it, up to 290k now with no issues other than normal brakes, tires, alternator, etc... great family wagon.

F250 is getting a 378k long block (donation from a buddy) swapped in once tax money comes in, so I can at least drive it, and then do a good rebuild on a good forged rod long block I have in storage.

I have to say, despite the f250 motor issues, I still love 'em. No emissions junk, and so simple compared to the 6.4/6.7's we have at work.

With a new diesel F250 coming any day now... it will be interesting for me to see just how well a performer it is and how reliable...
