Could you actually run a gooseneck bumper pull if you got the appropriate 10-15% tongue weight, were within tow capacities & could hook up safety chains & wiring correctly?

That definitely looks wrong, but I'd be curious if it could be done safely under the right setup.

That looks like a half ton & I'd expect that trailer & load would be close to its towing limit without all the junk in the bed dropping it to the bump stops.
Yes, you would want to remove the tailgate so that it didn't end up Vee shaped, but otherwise, it should work.

Maybe pink trailers are built just a little light.

Have a friend that worked for a glass company that had pink trucks. Poor guy suffered endless humiliation.

There's a company around here that's got a couple large water trucks which have a lot of pink on them. I figure that driving a ~50,000 pound rig on the roads around here is badass enough not to worry about the color!

Looks like it ran into an invisible low bridge. Maybe overloaded? Hulk smash or jumping the top if the trailer? Doesnt look like a wreck I could easily explain the physics of without more damage to the trailer from a different direction.

It does appear that the frame is broken, how it happened would be the question.

You’re adding 7 foot to the length and giving up the stability you bought the GN for to begin with and you’d probably have to remove the tailgate plus all the problems you mentioned but if all that was worked through I don’t see why you couldn’t. But it would be a lot easier to just get a BP trailer or add a GN hitch. As long as that trailer is I’m betting that trailer plus load is in the 15k range. Double or more his towing capacity. And he took such care with the hitch job I’m sure he installed a brake controller.

Not to many bumper mounted balls would handle that tongue weight. Same for most frame mounted receiver balls.

Anybody find yourself noticing more of these things after reading this thread? I saw three different ones today, including one with a mail truck.

I watch more carefully now.

Today I saw an equipment trailer with a skid steer with two chains/binders. One right front and the other left rear.
