Years ago I happened to have the CB on as a trucker told of going past an auto which had a canoe strapped on top with bungie cords. As he went by the thing flew off. For some reason he stopped, the state police showed up. The canoe owner was adamant that the trucker should by him a new canoe... the trooper finally got so tired of hearing about it that he wrote the guy up for an insecure load.

For the life of me I can’t understand why anyone would buy such a small trailer that you can’t even haul a 2x4 or sheet of plywood on it. What’s the point of buying it in the first place?

I saw a guy at Home Depot a few months ago loading a bunch of 8ft 2x4’s into a 5ft trailer stacking them on top of the rear fold up gate. Rediculous!

Bungees are never primary cargo restraints!

A friend arrived at our remote mining camp missing his sleeping bag that had escaped the 'stretch spider' or whatever its called that was supposed to keep things in his roof rack. He had a couple of cold nights sleeping in his Land Cruiser. There's no substitute for rope or ratchet straps, or chain and binders on heavier loads.
