Here in Quebec they call that 'DOORING' and the fines + demerit points, will cost U serious.
The law is intended for bicycles but I presume they'd apply it to a motorcycle as well.

Seems bicycles are exempt from just about all the laws that vehicles are subject to even though they share the same roads.
And that includes the cost of maintaining the road network.
Electric cars don't pay gas taxes either so between electric vehicles and ever growing popularity of bicycles how will the road networks be financed?
Interesting times are ahead!

Hey, they banned talking on Cellphones and using a handheld GPS (but a factory installed GPS is OK).
Have to assume the car makers have a stronger lobby than the average driver.

Two interesting pictures today, in the same location at a fencing supplier.

Propane bottles not strapped in on fork lifts running on somewhat rough parking areas. The bottles are somewhat shiny where they are bouncing around in the unfastened brackets. sure they are low speed but still careless.

2nd picture is a guy loosely laying a tow strap around some lumber and off he goes heading to the access road in background that leads to interstate highway. no red flag either which figures.

This fellow passed me up and I noticed the whole car filled with stuff. Then at a stoplight I was behind him and saw the muffler hanger.

I don't think splitting Lanes would be dangerous if it were done in a slow and controlled way. The problem I see in many YT videos is the idiots running 20, 30 or more mph up between cars and trucks. I've seen vids of bikes that look to be going 60 or do mph between cars.... Now that's all dumb.

Cautiously splitting at 10 mph while vigilantly watching for indications of cars moving into your path.... Reasonably safe.

Not quite the same, but way back when, I was leaving school one day and at a choke point of stop sign and pedestrians it was just stop, wait, go a car length and stop again... clutch out, clutch in, brake, kick it into neutral again... after about ten minutes, in my mirror I watched a biker with a passenger sneaking up on the right hand side. Just as I was first in line waiting for a break of pedestrians in the crosswalk he passed the car behind me, and was coming up on the right hand side where he would have blocked me from turning. I turned in my seat, caught his eye and said "I'll run you right the **** over." There's no way that he could hear me but it was obvious what I said.
He stopped.

I saw this guy today. To make the bungee cord tie down even better the trailer hitch was too high and the deck was about a 20 degree angle.

I had a friend who lost a forklift propane cylinder from his truck bed when he accelerated at a light. Rolled a short distance and lodged itself under the rear axle of a brand new F150 at a very small dealership. Pried it out, had some laughs with the good old boys standing in the lot, and drove off. Laid back country living.

Not really. The parking brake must be pretty good.
