I learned checking for wood rot would be important if buying one used.
We tent camped on the ground until infants, then if bad weather was forecast we would still go, but used a tent trailer.
(Photo, Nevada desert). Kids grown and no longer available to helps set it up, we sold that and went back to tent camping.
