This looks too smooth for gravel and is more humped in the middle than you would expect gravel too be. Tires also would sag more if indeed 4 tons of gravel. I'm going with something like mulch or some recycled material but it's just a hunch.

It's hard to tell with the washed out pic and I'm in my phone, but almost looks like rubber mulch.

The tires appear to be P metric, if so there's no way there is more then 1.5-2 tons in that thing.

Looks like an old load distributing hitch with a 2-5/8 ball hooked up to a trailer with a pintle hitch. Muffler clamp is tightened over the ball in hopes of keeping the hitch from lifting. Add to that a reasonably heavy duty ball mount bar clamped in place with a scissors jack. What could go wrong?

It looks and lays like clear crushed. Figuring a 4x8 trailer with an average load height of about 18" it works out to 48 cubic feet, 1.77 cubic yards at approximately 2200 lbs per yard is just shy of 4000 pounds. The 2200 pounds is from on old product chart from the gravel company I retired from. If the material is chrushed with fines then you can add about 400 pounds per yard.

It’s a 3x7 trailer.

In that case I was high, basing my estimate on 6x10 feet. (The dimensions of my old landscape trailer)
