They drew a cock going into a butt, and then crashed the thing. They've already admitted it wasn't weather and was a human error.

Let's be real, this was either hacked, or done 100% intentionally. Have ya'll not looked at any of the data?

It's surprising that just today they are thinking of a plan in case they have to off load cargo. No offloading equipment has been deployed up to this point. You'd think they would have sent that equipment in route as plan B or C, so they don't have to waste time if they miss their high tide opportunity today.

Floating cranes that are capable of off-loading containers from the Ever Given are exceedingly expensive and therefore scarce. Further, they are often chartered (leased) to or owned by the contractors of big projects. (It is often cheaper to buy the equipment, use it, and resell it after the job is done--see almost any TBN thread on expensive attachments). The parties that control the cranes would have to be enticed to divert the equipment. That said, SMIT probably knows where the floating cranes are and whom to approach. I suspect such a crane is already enroute; the press is ignorant of it and hasn't reported it yet.

Ever Given is a Golden-class container ship, one of the largest container ships in the world. The ship is owned by Shoei Kisen Kaisha (a shipowning and leasing subsidiary of the large Japanese shipbuilding company Imabari Shipbuilding), and time chartered and operated by container transportation and shipping company Evergreen Marine.

Give me a few hundred pounds of Tannerite and a 45 pistol and I’ll have that ship loose.

Update to EVER GIVEN’s status in the Suez Canal

28th March 2021

Having removed more than 20,000 tons of sand and mud, the dredging operation underway has succeeded in loosening the EVER GIVEN’s bow within the bank of the Suez Canal and the ship’s stern has been cleared from the sand bank. The rudder and propeller of the vessel are fully functional and expected to provide additional support to tugboats assigned to move the container ship from the accident site so that normal transit may again resume within the canal.

The rescue team is continuing the dredging efforts and will resume attempts to refloat the vessel at 14:00 local time in Egypt (20:00 Taipei time).

I too was confused about the name, thinking someone made a mistake. Odd name!

Two bit. Yes, some have speculated, it's just to add to the unfolding global economic mayhem (which it certainly will) . But always being the thinking one. I think they (someone with power and money) could have come up with a dastlier plan than this.

As for that drawing thing? Where where they supposed to have done that? It would have taken a ship that size, a lake, a week with half a dozen tugs!

Ever (something) names:

Go here:

Use the little scroll arrows to the right of "select." About halfway down are the names that start with "Ever ."

It looks like someone named them by throwing darts at an open dictionary.
