Sharpen a dull holesaw (YES it works!)

Is there a speed reducer/torque multiplier for hand held drill? Sound's like a simple to build device that would solve lots of problems with overheated bits. I have a 60 year old corded 1/2" Craftsman drill that work's pretty well if you can fit it in where you need to drill. Thing resemble's a 60 Lb electric chip hammer with a shoulder rest. Grandson laughed when he saw me chucking a 7/16th bit in it.
