No, I was trying to explain what float is, and the fact that it has detent.

Since you have seven hoses coming off the FEL valve, that means that you have a PB port feeding your 3pt. What I don't know is how the flow from the PB is getting to your Pounder valve. If you have a remote in the back, I am sure you just plug it in, however, if no remote, you are feeding the pounder valve direct from the PB port, and when you want 3pt, you unplug the pounder and plug in the 3pt. The manual valve I mentioned above, will let you switch the flow to the pounder or the 3pt. Your return hose from the pounder would go to tank.

Should you want to control the pounder with a remote valve, you would just plug the pounder in and throw some levers, and go to work.

Here is my current configuration, I only have driver and FEL. I haven't tried HST, I just assume at this point it will operate. The lines to the HST and 3-point are metal. If I change the out port at the driver to PB then all should work.

JJ, I guess if I cant get the PB sleeve I can use the selector valve, but I really need to operate the 3-point and the driver simultaneously.

I guess I should have tapped the metal pressure line from the pump and added rear remotes from the beginning. Not knowing anything about PB, CC, and OC I thought it would be much easier and cheaper to just tie in to a QD.

When Im stupid I admit it.

Success!!!!!!! I have a working post driver and tractor. Installed the PB sleeve and all is good. Thanks to everyone who had the patience to help me figure this out.

What did you do , install the PB plug? You can still only use either the pounder or the 3pt. At least, you don't have to be switching hoses.

I am assuming that the PB out of the pounder is going to the 3pt.

Does the PB adapter plug have a seal at the bottom of the adapter ?

Now you see why you could not just drill out the center of the plug and make a PB plug.

Yes, I installed the PB plug and yes to the 3-point. Now I can locate the driver where needed with the 3-point, set the loader down to stabilize the tractor and drive a post without having to swap hoses around. I want everyone who chimed in with ideas to know that I appreciate all of the input. Hopefully I can return the favor to someone sometime.

sparkslinger,

It sure does make one feel good when something works like it is supposed to.

Now explain the doppler effect involving laser speed traps for me. Just joking.

wfd2,

How are you doing with your pounder?

Laser light travels at a predetermined speed, the difference between the time that light takes to travel lets say between your speeding tractor and a cop sitting behind a billboard is called the Doppler effect.
You asked

Hey there JJ,

I'm glad Sparkslinger is working! I'm still waiting for the part (I will modify the current plug as a last resort, but I think I found the correct conversion onlline). In the meantime I've been working on our horse trailer (I need to rewire and check the brakes) and my "new" '59 601 workmaster. As soon as I get the part, I'll let you know how I make out.

Correct version wasn't online-- the store didn't tell me that it was 4-6 weeks until they could get me the kit. So I went to Colliflower Hydraulics and found a plug that will fit. I will try to test tomorrow and let everyone know the final outcome. Hopefully this plug will be the final solution so I can go back and forth between open center and closed center.

Sucess here as well!

Over the weekend I pounded in about 20 posts. The plug from Colliflower hydraulics worked!

I want to thank everyone who shared their time, experience and knowledge with me on this post. I sincerely appreciate it!
