I have a Shaver HD8 with hydraulic positioning. In operation, the force of the impact can cause the vertical positioning cylinder ram to move 3/4" or so. In other words, under sudden force, the cylinder isn't holding rigidly. I can't see how there would be any air in the system that would cause this, so the only other possibility is a leak in the cylinder or valve. That seems unlikely as the unit only has a few hours on it. Any ideas, or anyone had this experience?
A related question regards hydraulic restrictors. The positioning cylinders move way too fast to be of use, so I want to insert a simple orifice restrictor to slow the flow in both directions on the positioning cylinders. Can anyone recommend a source for a simple non-adjustable restrictor?
