Well, my old wood shed with tin roof has had it. I need to replace it as the roof is almost completely gone. It is over 50 years old. It is only 20'x24' and has a concrete floor. Question is: rebuild with wood and tin, or buy some prefab metal deal? I like the idea of no-rot, but price is of major importance. Anyone got suggestions or experience?

Partly depends on what you are going to use it for, how comfortable you are doing construction and how much time you have.

You can get a metal building kit in the 3K-5K range (depending on your options).

If the frame is solid, no question, just put new metal on. Assuming you can do it yourself, which is a pretty easy job on a building this small, the cost is not high. Depending on how much lumber you have to replace, the roof will run about $750 or less. You didn't mention how tall it is or what type of doors it has, but new metal siding should be well under $1000 and the shed will look like a new one.
