I pay a little more for my amsoil ,but I don't see where it has doubled in price. The price increase for amsoil (I was told ) is due to material cost increases, packaging materials, shipping cost of those materials due to fuel cost .

Now I have not really been comparing pricing anywhere but the local auto parts store which is privately owned.Syntec is pushing $7.00 a qt. there.

whether this applies depends on how much oil you use a year, but you can buy a 55 gallon barrel of Rotella at Sams club. last time I checked it was about 240 dollars a barrel which is a little over 2 bucks a quart.

not a big savings but since it qualifies as all fleet oil, its Ok to use in your gas powered equipment and vehicles also.

I was at my local Sams this afternoon. A 55 gal drum of Rotella-T..15W-40 was $409 a barrel!!!!!

Lets see if I can figure the per quart price.
$1.86 + tax. :(
I may have to start doing my own oil changes.

It's usually 15 or so feet above your head. When you go back to the oil section look up on the pallet racking. It's usually up there somewhere. Same with BJ's wholesale clubs in my area. The 55 gallon drums of antifreeze, washer fluid and oil are on the top of the pallet rack's.

I've been using Rotella T in my tractors, and my diesel supplier, said I should be using the new Conoco Hydroclear Power-D. Has anyone had any experence with it, and is it as good as he claims? He showed me a document that claims truckers have gone from 10K oil changes to 50K oil changes using this stuff. He also said that they had to add die to it so you could see it on the dip stick. Its about the same price as the Rotella T, so I may give it a shot.

Interesting,

Les

did a price check on rotella last time in Sams a few weeks ago., is now 408 dollars a barrel.

so its now 1.85 a quart, US.

6 gallons in jugs at Sams was 42 bucks.

cheaper than in the barrel.

I'm seeing that a lot lately...the "large economy size" costs MORE per lb, oz, piece, etc., than the smaller sizes. Why?

My TC 29 New Holland makes the oil black within hours of changing. Is this normal? It runs fine, has 1200 hours on it. Has turned oil black quickly since new.
