The problem with T6 is it only comes in 5W-30 so if your owners manual only lists 10W-30 or 15W-40 then I don't think you should really go to 5W-30. Based on temperature ranges my Mahindra wants 10W-30 so I use T5 because I can't get 10W-30 in T6.

By the way, Shell has rebate offers on their T5 and T6 oils through the end of the year. I got $5 per gallon rebate on the T5 (up to 4 gallons).

It’s marked as diesel oil. I kinda figured it would be alright. In either case I dumped it into my 15-40 truck. And it’s 5-40 not 5-30.

The T6 is good stuff. I run it all my cars and trucks and tractor. Dodge even changed the oil spec for the Ecodiesel in the Ram 1500 (I own one) to Rotella T6 from the Pennzoil synthetic unicorn blood they came with. That Pennzoil stuff was about as expensive as Royal Purple with the availability of ice cubes in ****.

Ran T5 in everything, the Jeep, the car, small gas engines, and of course the tractor. Good stuff IMHO. Had over 400K on the jeep and still going strong. T6 is supposed to be a little better. Don't know.

“5W-40 and 0W-40” diesel oil. Bet if you look in the chart it lists 40 weight for high temps.

I used Rotella T4 for many years in all my diesel powered equipment with absolutely no problems. Just started switching over to T5 last year for no apparent reason. I really see no real need for T6. I probably don't even need T5 with regular scheduled oil and filter changes.

None of my owners manuals call for semi-synthetic engine oil let alone full synthetic oil.
