She\'s Red, Automatic... & I bought her...

Last weekend, on my way to TSC to look at a riding mower on sale… I stopped @ Home Depot down the street from TSC… “just to look”…/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

I picked this up with their current 40% off clearance sale…/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

So now I have my own “Hydro” (not really) Automatic RED Little Riding Tractor… Ain’t she purdy…? /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
(I've never owned a riding lawn mower in my life... this is the nuts...!)

(This is what happens when you are in the right place at the right time… Absolutely… Pure Luck… /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif)

Is that a sheet metal front axle? /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif . No, I am going back to bed, this is a dream and none of this is real, kinda like Bird, we will wake up and he still has his Kubota 2710. J

Good Morning Vietnam.... Ummmmmmmmm... I mean J... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

You better watch out... you'll fall out of bed and bump your head again... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hey... this is my first "little" rider... so "sheet metal" axle is still better than my old boot leather behind a walker... isn't it...? /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Besides... the price I paid- for the entire unit... was probably still cheaper than a "replacement cast iron axle"... alone /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Hey J... don't have any nightmares tonight... ok... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Good Morning Russ....

How about a cross between a Massey, Kubota, Mahindra, and a Kioti...? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Actually... an MTD product... that says... "American Made. American Owned" /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

May be HD has some ORANGE, GREEN or BLUE paint on sale. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Changing the color to one of the big 3 may help with making others accept your Garden Tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

John

That is a BIG rideon mower by our standards.

Mine is a 40" cut with a 12hp motor and it is fairly big.

I can't say I have seen 46" and 20 HP is Tim the Toolman grunt grunt MORE POWER stuff /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Cheers

So does this mean you will be selling the JD? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif A riding mower sure beats pushing a push mower. Also, If you get into the "zone" wile mowing, on a real sunny, hot day, You almost feel like your plowing the back 40 on an old farmall. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: She\'s Red, Automatic... & I bought her...

Actually it isn't an MTD product. It is made by American Yard Products - which is a unit of Frigidaire. They used to be Roper before being AYP. The Wizard name was actually sold for a long time at Western Auto. Didn't realize they were still around since Western Auto got gobbled up, but makes since though since Western Auto was owned by Sears and my '95 Wizard is exactly the same as the LTX1000 at Sears except with different sheet metal. In case you are in a pinch for parts try Sears. I think you'll have pretty good luck with it. The '95 I've got was given to me by my FIL this spring after he bought a new rider. He has used it to mow about 2 1/2 acres 2 - 3 times a week (he gets bored easy and it gets him out of the house) for the past 6 years. He would also bring it up occasionaly and help me with my 7 acres. I had a little problem with the belt wanting to jump off and I found that a weld had broken on the deck. Took the deck and had it welded and no problems since. A little rough riding compared to the '65 Sears (also a AYP product) I was just forced to retire - but at least it starts. Was mowing yesterday in 4th gear cause I was in a hurry. Couldn't tell by the grass I was mowing that fast still looked good. Now if I could find a magnito for the '65 I'd be all set.

Re: She\'s Red, Automatic... & I bought her...

BTW, I though of what machine my FIL bought. He bought a Statesman with a 23 HP twin cylinder Kohler and a 50" deck with hydro. Thing sounds like a car when you rev it up......
