It's just one hose,, unplug the bucket dump cylinder hoses, it shouldn't go anywhere with the hoses unplugged, and mow. when you need the loader bucked curl and dump function again, just unplug the 1 hose and replug in the 2 for the bucket... ????

(It makes you wonder how they accomplished this all -- anyway kudos to Deere for improving a tractor it was hard to imagine needed improvement!)

Sans a few leaking 3pt hitch plates... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

not as good like more plastic.

Plastic is CHEAPER? Not as good?

One of the biggest selling points for me IS the Deere 'plastic'. The color is molded in, it takes abuse like nobody's business.... Deere doesn't use it top cut costs.

Actually the biggest cost cutter has already been alluded to. Cut down the number of models and make more std. equipment.

I suspect the engineers are a bit more bright than that. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And that I think has been said elsewhere, that they likely know this, and have such plans. Fits with the new numbers beginning with the 2210, the 3x20 series, and the changes in the FEL size and numbering system. You are quick to point this out.
I suspect its hard to introduce changes when the demand for the present product models is still high.

Position control on the 3PH?

I hate to reply to myself, but /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just browsed the owners manual. It appears that the 3PH is still stop-and-drop. I have to say that one of the biggest advantages my 4110 has over my late, great, 2210 is the position control. That possible improvement must have been a big cost load. What about the hydraulic flow and pressure? Has the volume and pressure been increased?

That is a fine looking machine /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Pete,

I think you said it all... If Deere added position control on the 3PH and increased the hydraulic pressure, there would be a lot of higher priced models taking a big depreciation hit. They still want/need to move users up through the model range. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Dutch,

When I read the first few posts on the independent mower deck lift I thought it to be like on the JD755. The mower deck lift cylinder on the 755 was operated by the curl circuit of the loader but did not require disconnecting or reconnecting hoses. With both implements attached if you wanted to do loader work without moving the deck, you raised the deck all the way (full bucket curl) and then rotated the height adjuster full clockwise (about 1 1/2 turns from the cutting position) to lock the deck in the raised position. If you wanted to use the deck with the loader attached JD provide a pin for the bucket to keep the bucket from moving. This was not really necessary because the bucket dumped only slightly when the deck was lowered.

The need to connect/disconnect hydraulic hoses on the new series seems like a design leap backwards.

You know, some enterprising and inventive soul will figure out how to make some sort of a "t" adapter with a valve to divert oil from one circuit to the other. So you don't really lose much time if you need to "dump" while mowing all of a sudden.

Just a thought.

I'm kind of disappointed about the tiny 20 amp alternator. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
