So far it has only been since July but the Costco LED 4' lamps and fixtures are working beautifully and this is in Washington where it can be below freezing... only time will tell.

I was just at the house getting it ready for a new tenant... all of the LED replacement bulbs... CREE or Philips put in last year are 100% good... this is the first time I did not have to replace bulbs and this was only for LED.

There is a dining room chandelier and I decided to replace all 12 with candelabra 40W LED... hoping for similar.

Just signed a contract to replace parking lot lamps at the Hospital through a utility program... 250W going to LED... I hope it is not a mistake but the energy savings are a big factor...

The comment about the drivers failing got me to thinking. I found that the Costco LED's had a transformer to take the 120 Volt AC down to 12 volts. We removed the transformers, or drivers, rewired the six LED strips in the fixture to each take two strips @12 volts. We run these in a cabin without Hydro, just batteries and a solar panel and charge controller.
OK, so, could you take your shop lighting converted to run on 12 volts, use a 4D or 8D Battery, connected to a solar charge panel, and run your lighting needs from a 12 volt DC source.
Humm!, that would be a cool project.
I do this with a garden shed for the last few years, Battery, Solar panel, LED Lights, Simple!

I installed 2 of the 150 Watt UFO units. They seem to be top quality and put out a lot of light. I did a video review and included some light measurements in the shop. I plan on installing two more when I have extra money laying around.

Thanks for the post! I have a few UFOs in my Amazon list. Can you provide a link so we get the right ones? Also can you tell us the distance between the two lights in your test? Thx

I leaned a 20' ladder against one wall of my barn to paint it, and the bottom slid out -- not sure why but the ground had a slight slope and obviously gave out just enough. I rode that ladder down to the ground, and amazingly did not get hurt. Unfortunately I spilled most of a newly opened gallon of siding stain, about $40 worth. Made a real mess. I barely had enough to finish the barn.

Had that happened to me their would have been TWO messes! Let's just say the gallon of stain would have been the clean one....

All great info for me! I have the same height ceiling, about 10' between electrical rough in AND I had those lights in on my Amazon "list."
Thx for doing the research and posting the video!
