Shop tools you wish you had

The tools I wished I had are the ones I don't have :). And I've got quite a few, but theres always another one. TIG welder, ironworker, plasma cutter, finger brake, blast cabinet.....

Metal lathe, mill, plasma cutter, oxy/acetylene torch, air compressor, bigger hydraulic press with brake, punch and shear, better bandsaw, bigger vise, welding table, good pedestal grinder, sandblaster and cabinet, painting booth and equipment, English Wheel, spot welder,....... Maybe if I told you what I have, you could fill in the blank with any tool that comes to mind and I wouldn't overload TBN with my list.:laughing:

Although I am privileged cause my dad is a self-employed carpenter so I have access to most woodworking tools which I do use when I am in the mood for working with wood, but I also often am in the mood for working with metal and have an infatuation with new machines and with having all the tools that I want when I want so it will probably take me a while to build my shop. Same with my dad, when he was young he had almost no woodworking tools. His dad worked in a factory. It took him 20 some years to get to where his is now so it will probably work the same for me.

Take Care.

Paint booth and equipment since that would work for my woodworking part time business and my new metalworking hobby. Or maybe just a bigger shop to contain what I have now .

Preferably a bridge crane or if not a gantry crane. 5 ton should be big enough.

Realistically, my next two large purchases will probabally be a mill and a lathe.

But I would also love to have a TIG, plasma, and an ironworker. But those three things arent in the near future. Because anything that they can do, I can do by other means. Like MIG/Stick, torches, bandsaw, etc. They dont really offer me the ability to do anything I cant already, they would just make it easier. However, the mill and lathe can do things that I currently have to either go to my buddys, or a machine shop. Like turning parts, boring, cutting threads, keyways, etc.

Missing are:
-40 ton press
-Bigger air compressor
-Nice welding table
-Bigger lathe
-Mill
-Small overhead bridge crane

Top of my list would have to be a big drill press that is capable of going down to less then 200 rpm. 140 to 160 is where I really want to be.

Next might be a Mig Welder
