Well, I'm looking at pictures and you're looking at the real thing. I went with a distance that you'd hope to see whatever you'd need the gun for.

You're quite right about the distance factor however it may all be for not as our California governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown just yesterday signed into law yet another anti-gun bill (trumped up by our legislators, not an open vote of the people) that makes it illegal to open carry a gun so now that leaves only 42 other states that have no such law. I have'nt had a chance yet to see a copy of it so I don't know if it pertains to pistols and or long guns, loaded or unloaded, public or private property, hunters exempted, etc. so please no political follow ups as I'm only writing this as it may pertain to my new tractor scabbard.

Doesn't pertain to your situation...handguns, mostly. Might want to read why this legislation came about, BTW.
You know, if you guys in CA could get rid of those flakes in LA and San Francisco, you'd have a pretty nice state!!
Even in Pennsylvania, a gun friendly state, we have Philadephia...same mindset as those anti-rights bigots you have.
