Slugs are fun, and yea they go way farther than 230 yards. In fact you can actually see them traveling through the air if you're in an open enough area.

They are fun. Only problem I have is when I shoot slugs, I see $$$ flying out me barrel. Them rascals ain't cheap.

When I shoot that many slugs in one day, I have a sore shoulder!

Quite a few years ago, my sons and I were shooting clays and I was sore from those light loads, slugs would have been a bear. My shoulders are shot, so I can't shoot anything with more kick than a .243 now. My youngest son use to do a lot of training and has shot a lot of tactical shot guns.

Yeah, when we shot a lot of tactical shotgun, we might shoot 50 or 60 rounds easily in a match, but they were fairly light loads, but full power slugs are a lot more "robust". The first few aren't all that bad, but after a while they just "hurt". A semi-auto guns helps a lot over a fixed breech gun.
