Think he is trying - also would be VERY happy they found the problem before bring it out and you having an issue with it. Then it needs a ride back to the dealer, time in the shop and redelivery. Really did "save" you time in the long run. it is just hard when you are excited to get your new machine and thing happen to keep delaying it.

Pretty much what they said. The salesman has his place in this as does the shop foreman. The salesman has no say in priority of work in the shop and asking the mechanics to keep promises workflow is not going to go over well. Like a previous poster, I like dealing person to person after visiting the business. I also try to see the shop, you can tell a lot.

You may not know it, but in many shops, the guys who assemble them are not top notch technicians, so someone is going to do a quality control check and order some corrections.

I once got a tractor "on time" only to have them come and get it to fix some leaks. Shop Foreman apologized and explained it and I've had excellent service ever since; brought out and installed chain guards as they had a truck in the area.

He's a salesman....

The real test will be how the dealership treats you once they dump it off, ah, err, I mean deliver it, to you. ;)

I bought my tractor which was at the dealer and it took about 1 week for prep work. I ordered a grapple and 3rd function so hoses had to be installed and checked for leaks and tires for filled.

Now if I saw a tractor on the lot that I wanted without needing any other accessories I would expect to be able to pick it up that day.

I bought my LS over the internet, from a dealer about 4 states over... when he got the
bank draft, we talked delivery, he said probably about a week.... got a call the next afternoon,
said we'll be there in about an hour with your tractor!

It's not to much to expect someone to do what they say they are going to do, understanding that things come up and everything doesn't always work out exactly like it's supposed to but business is still business and most of the time when people don't answer your phone calls they need time to make up an excuse, with that being said I would personally rather here up front it's gonna be two weeks than two days with them knowing that it probably isn't going to happen, in my line of work people often want to know how long is it going to be before you get my lights back on, I always say longer than what it is actually going to take just in case something comes up unexpected it gives me time but more importantly 95% of the time when I do get it back on quicker than expected they are happy, lip service maybe the way business is done today, but doing what you say is still important to some people.

I think I know the dealer your talking about about. If I am right "and I am" Neal runs a first class operation.

While you are waiting, ask them to fill the tires for you if they haven't already. The 2650 is a light tractor given the power it produces.
