Apply for died diesel? They pump it at service stations here in N. Idaho. No permit needed.

as for mowing with cabs, only issue is be sure to clean or replace cabin air filters if operating in dusty environments a lot. They can get clogged and play havoc with heat and air.

I drove the new LX and it has the same track as a “B” it’s basically a rebadged B 2650 cab tractor

The benefits of a cab, far out weigh just the environmental comfort of the operator. With a Cab, the entire operator station, dashboard and majority of electronics is shielded and protected from the weather elements and dust. Service mechanics at the dealership, often marvel at the pristine condition of cab tractors even 10 years after first use.

From experience, i do recommend trimming tree limbs along commonly used tractor paths through your woods, and this effort applies to both Cab tractors and open station tractors with a canopy.

It sort of depends on how much you like being outside. If you live in an inhospitable environment like the deep south in the summer or the far north in the winter, the cabs make a little more sense. For those of us in the middle, who relish their time outside, a canopy just might be the better alternative.

I'm wanting to upgrade my 2010 Kubota L2800 open station manual gear with only 350 hours with a 35-40hp hydro, 3d function, grapple. My L2800 has always been garaged & has SSQA on loader. I use forks & bucket. Great tractor but mostly used in woods logging, very little bushing work. I'm 75 this year & son-in-law is 56 soon. We live on same property, 6.2 acres, both use the tractor. I'd like the cab for comfort but son-in law believes he would damage cab? Since we would split purchase price we're at a standstill. Other option is get 3d function install on L2800 & get a grapple & forget new tractor & keep this one. Gear drive on Kubota is Ok, but we both like hydro. Considering RK-37 hydro delivered with R1 tires, 3d function, and 60" grapple. Thoughts appreciated. Super forum, thanks all.

Entirely depends on your end use really. I have both cab and open station. Cabs can be very cumbersome in tight situations and no good at all in the woods. All depends on your end use more than anything else.

The issue with mowing (or running hay in my case) isn't cleaning the air filters regularly, it's more about the fine chaff that gets by the cabin air filter and gets lodged in the ac hx and heat hx and eventually clogs them up and makes them stink too.

I have to take mine apart every spring and clean the HX's out and it's not an easy job by a long shot.

You can have the best ac or heater but if the HX's are loaded with fine chaff, they don't do what they are supposed to and you either freeze your butt off or roast depending on the season.... and they stink too. Soggy chaff has a very unpleasant odor about it.

Why do people keep saying cabs are not good in the woods. I live in lumber country. Every piece of logging equipment has a cab. End of story. I have cab ans 20 acres of trees. 9 years on no damage from tree accept occasional mirror being banged and needing readjusting.

Maybe I should have clarified that a bit to say, not good in the untrimmed woods with low hanging branches.

I had an incident some years back with a branch that cost me a side door glass to the tune of nearly a grand.

So long as the canopy is above cab level, all is good. When it's not it can be bad and expensive.

I much prefer my open station tractor in my woods. Much less chance of damage, expensive damage. Like I said, been there did that and don't want to do it ever again.

Just so happens my deductible is a grand, all perils and the glass was $994 bucks so I ate it.

There, I clarified my comment.
